- Move the material from the driveway or street pile to every bed and area of the yard
- Spread it evenly with a compact skid steer plus hand raking around plants and hardscape
- Grade to a uniform ~2″ depth — no thin bald spots, no wasteful 5″ mounds
- Clean, crisp edges along sidewalks, driveways, curbing, and borders
- Sweep and blow off the driveway, walks, and street when we’re done

How much does landscape rock installation cost in Phoenix?
Spreading labor is a flat $475 for up to 5 tons, ~$700 for 6–10 tons, ~$950 for 11–15 tons, and a custom quote at 16+ tons — the rock itself is priced separately when we arrange delivery. There’s no hourly billing, so the price you’re quoted is the price you pay whether the job takes two hours or six.
Do you deliver the rock too?
Yes — we can arrange delivery and spreading together, so one crew handles the whole project, or you can order from any rock yard and hire us spread-only. Either way the spreading is the same flat rate; with delivery arranged through us, the material cost is quoted separately up front.
How long does rock installation take?
Most Phoenix yards are finished in a single day, with typical scheduling turnaround of 2–3 days from your quote. Our compact skid steer fits through a standard side gate, so even backyard installs go fast — no wheelbarrow relay, no fence panels coming down.
Why an Even 2″ Depth Matters in the Desert
Depth is the difference between a yard that looks professional and one that looks patchy by fall. Spread too thin and the dirt (and weeds) show through within a season; too thick and you’ve paid for tons you didn’t need while rock spills over your edging. A machine-graded, uniform ~2″ layer gives full ground coverage, helps suppress weeds, keeps your weed barrier protected from UV, and holds crisp lines along driveways and borders — which is exactly what buyers and HOAs look at.

Landscape Rock Installation FAQ
Do I need to buy the rock before I call you?
No. You can hire us either way. If you already ordered rock from a rock yard, we come spread it. If you haven’t bought anything yet, we arrange the delivery and the spreading together so it all happens in one visit — one flat labor price either way, with material quoted separately when we arrange delivery.
What rock types and sizes can you spread?
Just about everything Phoenix rock yards sell: decomposed granite, minus and screened granite, 1/2″ to 1″ screened rock, river rock, rip rap, and decorative rock in any color. We also spread dirt, topsoil, and mulch. Larger boulders are placed rather than spread — tell us in your photo text and we’ll quote it.
Is there a minimum job size?
Our smallest flat tier — $475 for anything up to 5 tons — is effectively the minimum. Whether you have 2 tons or 5, the price is the same, so most people use the visit to top off thin spots elsewhere in the yard while we’re there.
How do photo quotes work?

Do you install over existing weeds or old fabric?
We recommend the area be cleared first — spreading over live weeds means they grow right through. If you have old rock, weeds, or torn fabric, we handle removal and haul-off with our 14,000-lb dump trailer before the new rock goes down. Ask for a combined quote.
Can you work in occupied yards with pets and pools?
Yes — most of our jobs are lived-in homes. Keep pets inside during the work window, and we keep gates managed and equipment clear of pool decks and screens. Most installs are done in a single day, so the disruption is short.
