How Much Landscape Rock Do I Need?

How Much Landscape Rock Do I Need?

For a typical Phoenix landscape-rock installation at about 2 inches deep, one ton usually covers roughly 80 to 100 square feet. A quick planning number is one ton for every 90 square feet.

Divide your square footage by 90 to estimate tons. For example, a 450-square-foot side yard needs around 5 tons; a 900-square-foot front yard needs about 10 tons. Coverage changes with rock size, depth, uneven ground, and whether you are filling around plants or borders, so always confirm with the rock yard before ordering.

Once you know the approximate load, RockSpread can price the labor: starting at $495 for up to 5 tons, from $700 for 6–9 tons, and from $995 for 10–15 tons. The exact price also depends on delivery-pile distance and access to the work area.
